Nudity, Adult and Fetish work
- I do not take commissions for X-rated or pornographic artwork. No exceptions.
- “Tasteful” nudity of subjects is acceptable. The definition of “tasteful” is my own so you may want to inquire about your specific idea. Generally work that is tame or slightly sexy in nature, even nude subjects cuddling, is acceptable, but pornography is not. Consider the difference in what you might encounter in a public sculpture garden to what you might encounter in an internet advertisement. TL;DR: no boners.

- I will not draw animal genitalia on humanoid subjects. This includes “sheaths.” I am happy to provide your character with a gratuitous amount of fluff or a convenient fig leaf.
- Most “tame” fetishes are okay. You may want to ask specifically if I will be comfortable with your subject matter.
- Adult reference images are acceptable though I strongly prefer work-safe references.
- I reserve the right to refuse any commission for any reason
Payment
- Please make payments in United States Dollars (USD). Clients are responsible for the cost of currency conversion.
- Payment is required up front on all commissions under $50. Commissions over $50 must have half the price of the commission put down before work can begin. All images will be watermarked until full payment has been received.
- Full refunds only if no work has been done on a commission. If only a sketch has been worked on then partial payment can be refunded, less the cost of the sketch. Once the sketch is approved there can be no refunds.
- Payment can be made via Paypal or mailed check
Completion time
- I keep a queue of current commissions here: https://trello.com/b/zZ8pTaql/feather-critter-projects
- Active commissions are ones I’m currently working on. I usually work on 2-3 at once so I always have things to do while waiting for people to get back to me on corrections, etc. Commissions in the queue will become active in the order that they are queued.
- Completion time is generally about a month from ordering to final, but may be longer if I have a long list in the queue or your piece is particularly large (over $150). It’s unlikely you’ve been forgotten but it’s okay to check in. (:
- Icons have a separate queue as I sometimes use them to break up the endless hours of fur or background detail painting.
- If you do have a deadline like a birthday or anniversary, let me know! I’ll let you know if I think I can meet it or if you should consider a rush commission.
- Rush commissions can be started immediately for a fee (not a fixed price, just depends on how busy I am and the size of your piece).
Changes and corrections
- Artwork commissions may have two “rounds” of corrections per “stage”.
- There are generally two stages, the sketch stage and the final stage. Major changes such as changing the pose or the image composition can only be made in the sketch stage.
- A “round” of corrections is a list of things to be changed. For example, if on a painting you wanted the eye color changed, the tattoo was too large and the expression needed adjusting, that would be one round. If on the second try the eye color needed further adjustment as did the hair color, that would be a second round.
- Additional corrections after the first two rounds may be purchased for an additional fee. Some commission types may have more or fewer correction opportunities, such as design work-ups which can have “unlimited” corrections or hourly pieces where time making corrections is charged; while traditional media drawings such as ink and watercolor may be impossible to alter in the final stage due to the nature of the medium.
Image rights and reproduction
- For all artwork except logos all image rights remain with me including reproduction and publishing rights, online and in print. Clients are allowed to repost their work online for free, and to make prints for their own use, but cannot sell reproductions (inc. prints) of the work or charge a fee to view the work. If I publish or sell prints of your piece you will receive a mention of credit and character copyright on the work but no monetary compensation.
- For logo design commissions the client may reproduce the design online and in print but cannot resell the design rights to anyone else. Merchandise that contains the logo but features other imagery is fine (such as a t-shirt or print featuring your own artwork but with the logo I designed in the corner). For merchandise exclusively featuring the design (such as t-shirts or mugs featuring only or mainly the logo design) please contact me to work something out.
- Private commissions- If you would like your image to not be posted online, streamed online, or reproduced in print then it is a ‘private’ commission. Since posting commissions, streaming and selling prints is how I advertise myself and my work there is a a fee for private commissions. This fee is $10 for commissions from $50-100, $15 for commissions from 100-150 dollars, $20 for commissions from 150-200 dollars, etc. (no private fee for commissions under $50)
Unwanted original works such as pencil and ink drawings may be sold after three months if you do not currently have another commission in the queue. I’m happy to ship multiple commissions at once but I do not have room to store them indefinitely and I hate to throw away artwork. ):
Commissions with my characters- I’ve had a few requests for commissions with my own characters. This is generally fine but you’ll need to run the subject matter by me first and I’m a bit pickier. I will not take commissions for nude or sexual drawings of my characters, and I’m not comfortable with some kinds of fetish work of my characters. Additionally, commissions of my characters cannot be “private”.
